Since an early age I had a passion for cooking from scratch, baking, preserving and growing fruit and vegetables in a natural way. Andrea’s Organic Preserves was founded in May 2022 in the seaside village of Shanagarry, Co. Cork with Chutney's and Pickles. It changed into Andrea's Kitchen in 2023, adding Jams to the production. But its story stretches back much further. The Pickled Beetroot recipe goes back at least four generations in the Scandinavian family line, carrying on a tradition that has been passed down through the decades. Each recipe is rooted in family heritage, using simple, honest ingredients, and brought to life today with sustainable, solar-powered production. The care and craft behind Andrea’s preserves have already been recognised nationally. In 2023, her Pickled Beetroot won a Silver award at the Blas na hÉireann Awards, followed by a Silver award for her Raspberry Jam in 2025 with the Irish Quality Food Awards cementing its place among Ireland’s finest artisan producers. Having been part of the SuperValu Food Academy in 2024/2025, Andrea’s Kitchen is proud to share its award-winning preserves and pickles with customers across Ireland — jars filled with tradition, sustainability, and the taste of home.
